Jared Persons Obituary

Orlando-

Jared M. Persons, 29, of Orlando FL, formerly of Pine Hill NY, passed away on April 25, 2024, at Orlando Regional Medical Center surrounded by his family following a motorcycle incident on April 24th in Orlando.  Born on February 25, 1995, Jared’s free spirit and his "if life's a game I'm gonna win" attitude was how he lived his life.

He is survived by his 3yr old daughter Scarlett Rose Begonia, loving parents, Matt and Jackie Persons of Pine Hill; his devoted sister, Sarah (Gavin) Bellows, nieces Abigail and Ruth and nephew Gradin of Glenford; and his grandmother, Nancy Smith of GA. His extended family of many uncles, aunts, cousins, and a great nephew will miss his presence tremendously, each holding cherished memories of Jared's larger-than-life character.  He is predeceased by his Grandfather Charles Smith and Grandparents Ralph and Sylvia Persons, and Aunt Mary Persons. Scarlett Rose Begonia, Jared's three-year-old daughter, continues his legacy.  His love for her inspired his life.

A graduate of Onteora Central School's Class of 2013, Jared’s love for Harleys led him to move to Orlando where he completed the Harley-Davidson Mechanic School (MMI) and  also took a  role as a Harley salesman,  combining his passion for motorcycles with his professional ambitions. His career path was as diverse as it was rich with experience. He worked as a landscaper in Pennsylvania, a lift attendant at Belleayre Ski Center in Highmount, a deli clerk and cashier at Boiceville Market, and a cook at Oakleys Woodfired Oven and Grill in Arkville and later on in Orlando, he honed his craftsmanship as a welder at Superior Metal Fabrication. Welding became another outlet for his artistic ability, designing and creating art pieces for his family.  Embodying the entrepreneurial spirit, Jared was a self-employed motorcycle mechanic, often bartering his skilled work for new tattoos, which he wore as badges of his code of life and its adventures.

Jared's passions were vast and deeply woven into the fabric of his being. As a passionate Harley enthusiast, he found peace and excitement on the open road. He was an amazing detail-oriented artist. Jared was a self-taught musician, playing acoustic and electric guitar.  He played by ear and taught himself “Wild Horses” by the Rolling Stones in the 6th grade on a challenge from his Aunt Mimi.

Jared enjoyed weightlifting and working out at the gym. He loved the outdoors, fishing, hiking, and long bike rides. Jared's philosophy was that life was not about what you had but about what you could share. He often met people in need and would spend time with them, sharing a coffee or sandwich, making a connection and memorable moments. As his final act of generosity, Jared's cornea's were donated giving the gift of sight to another.

Jared's joy for life made it easy to share and laugh with him. His personality was infectious and when you were with him it was hard not to catch his joy and share a laugh and a good story as well as making a memorable moment.  Jared was always helping others.  He had a special way with children.  To watch this tough, gruff man with children, showed you who he was under that exterior, a kind and gentle soul.

Unapologetically authentic, Jared was known for his colorful language and unfiltered honesty. His language was colorful, often causing a “Jared!” reaction from his mother, then they’d laugh. He was intelligent and articulate, always speaking the truth. He was the epitome of authenticity; one of his most endearing qualities.

Jared's protective and caring nature made him the rock of his family. Always there in times of need, his watchful presence will be profoundly missed. His three years living in Florida were rich with experiences and friendships that underscored his love for life and adventure.  His memory will be treasured, his stories retold, and his spirit will continue to inspire all who carry his memory in their hearts.
