Westkill-
Bertha "Bootie" Pushman, 67 of Westkill died suddenly at her residence on Monday October 8, 2018. She was born Aug. 6, 1951 in Newburgh, daughter of the late Robert and Susan Barnum. A lifetime area resident, she was very involved with the Wildlife Expo for veterans. She volunteered, helped to fund raise, and assisted in organizing the programs for the Expo. Bertha was an excellent cook, and something was always baking in her kitchen. Her children recall that she was a fastidious housekeeper. She was a loving, caring, and giving individual who placed her family above all else. Some of her relaxing time was spent reading Stephen King novels. She was adored as Grandma by her four grandchildren.
Surviving are her husband of thirty-eight years Michael Pushman, 2 daughters: Janine Soule of Windham, and Jesse (Kevin) Monsen of Hunter. A son Michael Verrelli, four grandchildren: Stanley, Michael, Aaron, and Laila. Seven siblings: Brenda VanHouten, Cathy Euchler, Denise Constable, Robert, Larry, Eugene, and Michael Barnum. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
A Service to Celebrate the Life of Bootie will be held on Friday at 10am at the E. B. Gormley Funeral Home 87 Main St. Phoenicia. Burial in the Westkill Cemetery. Friends will be received on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm at the E. B. Gormley Funeral Home. You may share a special memory with the family on Bootie's Tribute Wall at gormleyfuneralhome.com
