Larry Soler Obituary

Phoenicia-
Larry Soler, 54, of Phoenicia died Tuesday, April 10th at Kingston Hospital after a long illness. He was born December 27, 1963 in Brooklyn, NY son of the late Gualberto Soler and Elba Rodriguez. Larry was a graduate of the State University of New York at Delhi. He was a Concierge at the former Barbizon Hotel for Women in New York City, which was converted to condominiums and currently know as Barbizon 63. He was married to the late Lhea Bigtas Soler in August 2006 and they have one daughter, Pearl Crystal. He relocated to Ulster County in December 2017, where he planned to live with his daughter in the peaceful countryside of the Catskill Mountains. Larry had an infectious love of life and positive outlook, all while managing his issues with Juvenile Diabetes. He would tell people to call him "Little Larry" despite the fact that he was 6 foot 5 inches. He had a very robust laugh that would always light up a room. He was a very kind, gentle, and loving man with a great heart. He loved to talk to everyone and would try to spread his positive spirit every where he went.
He is survived by his daughter, Pearl Crystal Soler of Phoenicia; Sisters Nilsa Rivas of Virginia, Diana "Dee" Delatorre, of New York, and Elba "Iris" Delatorre of New York, a brother Sandy "Kato" Soler of North Carolina, as well as many Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, and friends. He was predeceased by his wife Lhea Bigtas Soler, his parents, and his sister Marisela "Chela" Delatorre .
