Lawrence E. Joyce

     Lawrence E. Joyce,71, of West Hurley, died Tuesday September 18, 2018 at the Northern Dutchess Hospital in Rhinebeck.  He was born November 26, 1946 in Kingston son of the late Paul and Helen Pulos Joyce.  A native and life long area resident, he owned and operated Larry Joyce Sanitation for 20 years, having retired in 1989.  Larry knew many people, and touched many lives.  He was a community oriented individual, and had formerly coached the Yankees Little League team for Shandaken.  It has been said, that he was "outgoing" and full of life, two attributes well suited for him as owner and operator of the Fire Tower Restaurant in Speculator,NY  Larry had a residence in the Adirondack's since the 1980's and loved fishing on the lake in Speculator.  

     Surviving are his sons: Michael of Shokan, Peter and his fiance Joan of OH, and Andrew and his wife Katie of W. Hurley. A sister Ellen Joyce of FL, three grandchildren: Nicholas Carr, Piper and Henry Joyce and his former spouses Linda France Joyce and Ruth Baker.  .  He was predeceased by his sister Patricia Purfield.
