Lorraine Jankowski

     Lorraine Jankowski, 70 of Halcott died Thursday March 7, 2019 at the Kingston Hospital after a brief illness.   She was born December 7, 1948 in Port Chester, NY daughter of the late John and Irene Sury Byington.  She has been an area resident since the early 1980's.   Lorraine had been an account clerk at Belleayre Mountain Ski Center for over 25 years.  She made her cohorts feel like they were part of her family.  She valued the strength of the network connections she made with all of her "Belleayre Family"  All who entered the office, knew they would be greeted by Lorraine's warmth and love.   She was talented at crocheting baby sweaters, and was quite a cook in her day, as evidenced by the library of cookbooks in her kitchen.  She loved animals, especially her dog Maggie.  She was predeceased by her husband Michael February 4, 2019.

     Surviving are her brother John and his wife Laurie of Austin, TX , two nieces: Nancy and Vanessa,  nephew Johnny, great nieces Grace and Emily, great nephew Nicholas, and her dear friends Diane Ackerley and Jennifer Bouton.

     A graveside service will be held June 13, 2019 at the Halcott Cemetery.  Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the E. B. Gormley Funeral Home 87 Main St. Phoenicia.  You may share a special "Lorraine Story" on her Tribute Wall at gormleyfuneralhome.com
