Matthew Jason Brennan, 29, Shokan, NY died Saturday Sept. 22, 2018 at his residence. He was born Feb. 26, 1989 in Kingston the son of Gregory and Barbara Chorman Brennan. A native and life long area resident, he was a graduate of Onteora High School. He recently earned his commercial driver’s license and had employment already in place. Matthew enjoyed the beauty of nature and outdoor activities such as fishing, hunting, and hiking. He was a very talented musician who was self-taught with the guitar, piano, and trumpet. He was a loving, kind hearted, caring and generous individual who focused on helping less fortunate people with food, clothing, and his time. Matthew was devoted to his family, and loved by all who knew him.
Surviving in addition to his parents are his paternal grandfather Kenneth Brennan of NJ, and two brothers: Eric and Daniel of WA
A Service to Celebrate the Life of Matthew will be on Saturday Sep. 29, 2018 at 12 noon at the E. B. Gormley Funeral Home 87 Main St. Phoenicia with Fr. Raphael Iannone as celebrant. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to, Benedictine Health Foundation, In memoriam of Matthew Brennan, 144 Pine St Suite 220, Kingston, NY 12401 . Friends will be received on Saturday from 10am to 12 noon prior to the Memorial Service, and from 12:30 to 2pm at the E. B. Gormley Funeral Home.
