Fleischmanns-
Michael McCann, 70, of Switzerland Avenue died suddenly Thursday March 28, 2019 at his residence. He was born in Margaretville January 19, 1949 son of the late Henry and Margaret Haynes McCann. He raised his family and resided in Fleischmanns for a majority of his life. He made a career working for the Delaware County Highway Department as Crew Supervisor and retired in 2014 after approximately 20 years of service. Mike was family focused and dedicated his life to his loving wife, children, grand and great grandchildren, and dogs. He set an example for his family and those who knew him through his hardworking, kind and welcoming demeanor. He enjoyed outdoor activities including camping, snowmobiling, ATV riding, decorating for the holidays, and Saturday family dinners surrounded by his family. He had a passion for fixing things combined with the craftmanship to back it up. If something was broken, rattling, etc., Mike was always willing to lend a hand regardless of the number of other projects he had underway. Mike had a big heart. He was considerate, kind, and friendly to all he met and always welcomed new faces into his home. His laugh was infectious and his smile could melt your heart and light up a room. He left a legacy behind of children, grand children, and great grand children. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him but his memory and the lessons he taught to those he touched will live on for eternity
