Patricia Ford

Patricia E. Ford, 82, of Fox Hollow Road, passed away Wednesday May 30, 2018 at the Kingston Hospital after a recent battle with pneumonia. She was born March 3, 1936 daughter of the late John P. and Mary Ellen Wright Staiger. A Native and life long area resident, she had formerly worked for Phoenicia Video Store, IBM, and Rotron. She had been a member of the Shandaken-Allaben Hose Co. Ladies Auxiliary where her husband Sid was a charter member. Years ago she had volunteered her time and talents with Troop 60 BSA. She loved her birds, squirrels, deer and bear, tending her flower and vegetable gardens, canning and freezing produce & making maple syrup! But most of all, Patty will be best remembered for her baking! She was focused on her family, and had been a care giver for her grandson James. Her family describe her as a "spirited" individual with a strong sense of community.
Surviving are her husband Sidney J. Ford whom she married August 13, 1955. Her children: Margaret (Scott) Warner of PA, Mary of NJ, Dale of Bushnellsville, and Glenn (Lisa) Ford of Phoenicia. Grandchildren: Ben, Todd and Carolyn, Kayla and Ashley, and James , and 3 great grandchildren. Sister-in-Laws: Ellen Staiger and Jane Staiger VanLear, Brother-in-Law Claus Backstrom, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her siblings: Thomas, John, Candace Backstrom, and MaryEllen Grant.
A private service will take place with burial in the family plot at the St. Francis de Sales Cemetery Rt. 28 Allaben.
