Raymond J. McCoy, 70, of Phoenicia died peacefully Tuesday September 11, 2018 at his residence with his family at his bedside. He was born October 25, 1947 in NYC son of the late Francis McCoy and Catherine Gallagher McCoy. He grew up in Sunnyside Queens, where he had maintained many friendships. Ray was a member of Local 32 in New York and touched many lives in his career as a 5th Avenue Doorman. He retired to the Catskill Mountains, an area that he thought was the most beautiful. He had a deep appreciation for nature, and enjoyed taking long walks, especially at the Ashokan Reservoir to soak up all the beauty that surrounds us. He is recalled as having the most wonderful sense of humor, and always ready to share a welcoming smile. Raymond was devoted to his daughter and her happiness.
Surviving are his daughter Kelly of Phoenicia, sister Deborah Hine of NJ, brothers: Francis of NJ, and Gerard of NC.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Friday Sept. 21, 2018 at 11:30am at the St. Francis de Sales Church Main St. Phoenicia with Fr. Raphael Iannone as celebrant.
