Pine Hill-
Adam P. Johnson of Pine Hill died Monday November 1, 2021 at the Kingston Hospital. He was born April 22, 1973 in Oneonta, son of the late Paul and Rosalie Green Johnson. Adam was a graduate of Margaretville Central Schools. He had been a construction and flooring contractor with Debari Floors and More of Arkville. Adam had many creative talents, and an eye for solving any issue. He could build and fabricate most anything, from homes or cabins, to knives, and pottery. He had a great sense of humor, and a generous heart. He affirmed his sense of community by volunteering with the Pine hill Fire Department. Adam was also lead singer and guitarist for bands such as: Dreamer, Detour, and EXFiles. He enjoyed cooking for others, and trying out some new culinary experiments with his smoker. Above all, he loved his wife and children who were his rock throughout it all.
In a recent FB post he shared: " To set the story strait: My name is Adam Johnson, I'm 48 years old and I'm not likely to make it out of this alive. I plodded down Struggle Street,, having lost both parents at a young age, making poor and tenuous choices, unsound financially, and generally embarrassed/proud that a work ethic and some blue collar skills earned you Most of a living. Certain that any and all consequences were mine alone to bear and well deserved. Unaware was I, the effect that this had on my beautiful family. My 6ft. 300lbs. son, so loving and gentle, he only wants a hug and a tickle. A freckled cute pie little girl so rapidly becoming a brilliant, sophisticated, respectful young lady, completely devoid of the insolence of becoming a TWEEN. A loving wife so dedicated, that inspite of odds, comforts me immeasurably. And an army of friends and family too diverse to name beyond deserving of anyone. These people DO NOT deserve my abandonment. So I hope you're still with me. I implore you all to please love and support aone another, knowing I can't be here to help and how inadequate it makes me feel. Mean time, I'm confident of returning to a better place, and not too soon, will again be blessed with your presence, on the other side."
Surviving are his wife Melissa Bourke Johnson, son Luke and daughter Anna Johnson. brother Matthew Johnson, half brother Sawyer and half sister Lydia Johnson. Numerous extended family and friends also survive.
