Clovesville-
Audrey T. Johnson, 87 of Old Rt. 28 died Saturday April 13, 2019 at the Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla, NY. She was born September 19, 1931 in Jersey City, NJ daughter of the late Lacey Patton Lytle, and Margaret Anthony Lytle. Audrey was an intelligent and talented woman who added a vivacious spark to all the lives that she touched. She was a skilled researcher, who focused on cardio-vascular issues while at the Albert Einstein School of Medicine in New York City. She prided her self at being current on global issues, politics, and arts & entertainment. Audrey was the living example of a classic debater, and she knew her facts. She had been a self-employed fashion designer, having owned and operated her own Dress Shop. An area resident since 1973, she had been involved in various community initiatives. She was always helping someone. Audrey had volunteered with the Delaware Opportunities, which responds to the needs of her neighbors. She formerly had been active with the Margaretville PTA, and assisted the Skene Memorial Library with funding solutions. Additionally she sewed love into every stitch of her beautiful hand-made quilts, and knitted crafts. She enjoyed cooking, and canning homegrown produce. Audrey had a strong sense of community as evidenced by her presence, and an equally strong love for her family.
Surviving are her daughter Taeko-Lisa Bashaw of Canandaigua, son Levan Johnson of Clovesville, brothers: Cecil and Henry Lytle, sisters: Florence Lassiter and Gwendolyn Lytle. She was predeceased by her husband Levan Johnson in 2002, a grandson Alvin Ricks, and siblings:Lacey Jr., Reginald, Juanita, Judge Alice Lytle and Margaret Pearson.
