Carol Dilg passed away peacefully at home April 21, 2025 while holding her son's hand. She was born in Margaretville New York on July 15, 1943 the daughter of Stella Shurika Todd and Ezra Todd. Upon graduation from Fleischmans High School she worked as a telephone operator.
She married her husband, William Dilg, on April 18, 1964 and had just celebrated 61 years. She is survived by her children Marcy Dilg (Bruce Decker) of Lisbon Maine, Colleen Dilg (Gibson) and her granddaughter Macy of Virginia Beach Virginia, Shawn Dilg (Kristen) and grandchildren Nicholas (Madison) and Erin of Canandaigua New York. Sister Virginia Short, Highmount, New York, brother Robert Todd (Lana) Seneca South Carolina and sister Barbara (Larry) Delmont of Victorville California. She was predeceased by her sister June Ennist of Pine Hill, and brother Richard Todd.
Carol's family dedication was foremost in her heart. Raising her three children was her primary endeavor. Making clothes and costumes for both children and grandchildren gave her great pleasure. She enjoyed many varieties of flowers and plants in and around the house. Two, now tall, white birch purchased after her serving on Grand Jury hold birdhouses waiting for wrens to return. She had a knack for making wonderful holiday dinners and special pastry treats for family and friends alike. Her most enjoyed time was mid spring through mid fall sitting on the front porch reading a book, sipping a cup of tea having a cigarette and welcoming friends to sit down and join her to chat for a while.
Carol, Mom, Grandma, Grammie gave generously and seeing a photo, hearing a song, a momentary recollection will bring a tear and a smile. Memorial services will be held privately. You may share a special memory, photo, or condolence on Carol's Tribute Wall at www.gormleyfuneralhome.com
