Carol (Davis) Wood

     Carol D. L. Wood, 92, of Glenford died Sunday April 3, 2022 at her residence.  She was born December 16, 1929 in Kingston, daughter of the late LeRoy and Anna Oakley Davis.  She earned her bachelor's degree at Houghton College, graduate school at Wheaton College in IL, and master's degree at SUNY New Paltz.  She began her teaching career at a one-room schoolhouse in Lyonsville, NY.  Carol was a reading specialist teacher for many years at the West Hurley Elementary School.  She was also active in the Reservoir United Methodist Church, serving as the Church organist for over 25 years, and participating in committee work.  She volunteered as an ombudsman for senior citizens in Ulster County.  She enjoyed the various experiences of extensive world-wide travels with her husband Dr. Cary E. Wood.
     Surviving are her son Keith Larsen, and grandson Andrew Larsen.  She was predeceased by her husband Cary Wood, former husband Richard H. Larsen, and siblings:Ida Mae Marlatt, Florence, Arthur and Wilson Davis.  
     Her Funeral Service will be held on Saturday April 9th at 11am at the Reservoir UMC with Rev. Yeon Shin officiating.  Burial in the family plot at the Tongore Cemetery.  Friends will be received on Friday from 3pm to 6pm at the E. B.
