Catherine M. Elliott, passed away on May 29, 2025, after a lengthy illness. Born on September 26, 1976, in Kingston, daughter of the late Robert and Gail Rice.  Catherine's life was a testament to her unwavering faith and commitment to serving others. 
 Catherine's journey through life was one of continuous learning and growth, marked by her graduation from Onteora Central Schools and SUNY Ulster, where she earned her degree in nursing. Her academic achievements laid the foundation for her lifelong vocation as a caregiver.
Her professional path as a Registered Nurse was a reflection of her innate desire to help those in need. Catherine's career in healthcare saw her touch countless lives with her gentle care and unwavering support. Most recently, she served with compassion at Hudson Valley Hospice, where she worked until her illness.

Catherine's personal life was enriched by her loving family. Her husband, Timothy Elliott of Olivebridge, stood by her side as a pillar of strength. Together, they raised two wonderful children, Abigail and Ryan Elliott, who were the pride and joy of Catherine's life, and her brother James Rice of Indiana. Her family was her sanctuary, and she poured her love into every moment spent with them.

Beyond her professional and family life, Catherine was an active member of her community. She was a former member of the Olive Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary, where her spirit of service shone brightly. Her green thumb brought beauty to both vegetable and flower gardens, and her culinary skills, especially her famed French Onion Soup from the Red Vest Inn, were legendary among friends and family.

Catherine's faith was the cornerstone of her existence. She was an active participant in the Living Word Chapel, contributing her talents to the worship team and imparting wisdom as a Sunday School teacher. Her melodious voice graced many cantatas at Mt. St. Alphonsus, uplifting the spirits of all who heard her sing. In quieter moments, Catherine found joy in jewelry making, creating pieces that reflected the beauty she saw in the world.

To describe Catherine as faith-filled is to capture the essence of her being. She lived her beliefs through her actions, her kindness, and her unwavering commitment to her family, her patients, and her God. Her departure leaves a void in the hearts of those who knew her, but her memory will continue to inspire and guide us.

Catherine M. Elliott's life was a journey of giving, loving, and believing.
