Boiceville-
Clarke Henry Ulmer, 83, of Boiceville, NY, died Wednesday, January 26, 2022, eight days after his beloved wife, Mary Ann, passed on January 18, 2022. They would have been married 60 years this February. Clarke was born on July 3, 1938 in Ridgewood, Queens NY, the son of the late Mary and Henry Ulmer. Clarke graduated from St. John’s University in Queens with a degree in Mathematics. He worked for NASA where he was in charge of the design of the simulator for the Apollo 11 Moon Mission. His computer keyboard from that mission has been displayed in the Smithsonian Museum. Clarke then went on to become President of a financial services firm, Colson Services Corporation, in NY, NY.
Clarke and his wife would raise their family in College Point, NY, later moving to Westchester, NY, but always cherished weekends in their Boiceville home, affectionately known as “upstate”. Boiceville eventually became their permanent home, where they enjoyed time with family and friends. Clarke loved to watch movies, collect trains, tinker around the house, share a good glass of wine with family and friends, tell stories, spend time on his computer and enjoy the company of his grandchildren, whom he was extremely proud of. Clarke was a faithful Catholic greatly devoted to and supportive of his parish of St. Francis de Sales in Phoenicia, NY.
Clarke is predeceased by his wife, Mary Ann. He leaves behind his son Clarke Jr. , daughter-in-law Erica and their daughter Kayla, daughter Christina, son-in-law Errol Ruschil, and grandchildren Marissa, Evan and Noelle.
Visitation will be held 10-11:30 am on Thursday, February 3, 2022 at E. B. Gormley Funeral Home 87 Main Street, Phoenicia, NY, with a Mass of Christian Burial immediately following at 12pm at St. Francis de Sales Church. Interment will be at the St. Francis de Sales Cemetery.
