David W. Hedin Jr., 68, of Chichester died Monday July 25, 2022 at his residence. He was born October 30, 1953 in Rhinebeck son of Irene Coon Hedin Harrison and the late David Hedin Sr. He was a lifelong area resident. David was a veteran of the United States Navy having served from 1975 to 1978. He had been awarded the National Defense Service Medal. For many years, he was a long distance truck driver. He was a talented woodworker and folk artist. Additionally he was a passionate drummer who often participated with the Woodstock Drum Circle at the Village Green. He loved dogs, and listening to music on vinyl.
Surviving in addition to his mother Irene (Charles) Harrison of Livingston, are his wife Jacqueline Striffler Hedin and son Michael (Nicole) Hedin of Elizaville . Two grandsons : Phoenix and Griffen also survive. He was predeceased by his son David and brother John Hedin.
A graveside service will be held at the St. John's Reformed Church Cemetery, Old Post Road, Red Hook. Private arrangements are under the direction of the E. B.
