His involvement with Trout Unlimited reflected his passion for the environment and his desire to preserve the natural world for future generations. He was an avid fisherman, fishing streams all along the East Coast, as well as in Montana.

An ardent sports fan, David's loyalty to the New York Yankees was unwavering. He shared many a game with friends and family, cheering on his beloved team with enthusiasm. His passion for sports was equally evident in his support for the UConn Women's Basketball team, where he was not just a fan but an avid supporter.

David's life was a beautiful tapestry woven with the love of his devoted wife, Ellen Ippolito Sorensen. Together, they built a life filled with laughter, mutual respect, and an unbreakable bond.
