Dorothy Rossitz Obituary

Oliverea-

     Dorothy "Dottie" Rossitz died Saturday June 12, 2021 at her residence.  She was born March 8, 1953 in Kingston daughter of the late Kenneth and Claire Baker Oakley.  She was a graduate of Rondout High School.  Dorothy had previously worked at Rotron, as well as the Phoenicia Market.   She was an entrepreneur who was always trying out new business ventures such as: a vinyl sign co., or  a model airplane co.  Dottie loved children, and had a great big heart.  She always had an organized craft project ready to work on with the kids.  She made soaps, candles, and was always doing something.  Above all, her family was paramount.

     Surviving are her daughter Lisa (Bob) Repke of FL.  Two grandchildren: Lauren and Rob Repke.  Her siblings:  William and Kenneth Oakley, Kathy Roland, Sue Christiana, and Mary VanGorden ..She was predeceased by her husband Jody Rossitz in March 2018, and a sister Eva Pra. 

     Her funeral service will be held on Friday at 2pm at the E. B. Gormley Funeral Home 87 Main St. Phoenicia.  Burial in the Oliverea Cemetery.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Big Indian-Oliverea Fire Dept.  Friends will be received Friday from 1:30 prior to the service.  You may share a special memory or condolence with the family on Dottie's Tribute Wall at gormleyfuneralhome.com
