Dorothy (Lewis) Symons

Amsterdam-

     Dorothy C. Symons, 82, formerly of Olivebridge died Saturday June 12, 2021 in Gloversville.  She was born October 16, 1938 in Olivebridge, daughter of the late Frank and Delia Barringer Lewis.  She had been an area resident for over forty years prior to relocating to Amsterdam to be closer to her son.  Dorothy had been employed as a secretary at IBM Kingston for many years.  She was a hard working woman who provided for her children.  She enjoyed hosting , sharing a meal, and quality family-time.  Many laughs were had over board games with her family.

     Surviving are her son Robert Kearney and his partner Joseph Muhlberger as well as nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by her daughter Jayne Rion on May 16, 2021, and husbands: James Freece, Robert F. Kearney, and Gary Symons.

     A Service to Celebrate the Life of Dorothy will be Thursday June 17th at 12 noon at the E. B. Gormley Funeral Home 87 Main St. Phoenicia with Rev. Karen Squires of the Olivebridge Methodist Church as celebrant.  Burial in the Tongore Cemetery.  Friends will be received on Thursday from 10am to 12 noon prior to the service at the E. B.
