I enjoyed many occasional conversations with Dorothy about the history of the Red Kill Valley, and those that lived there.  She was a wealth of information and delightful to talk to.  Whenever I think of her I will remember her story about sledding from Eldon Kittle's barn (intersection of Big Red Kill Rd and Red Kill Rd), all the way down the hill, past Gilbert Streeter's house and her home across the street, then on down the hill on Little Red Kill Rd, past the church, and past the bridge over the stream.  One long, glorious, exhilarating, half-mile ride.
