Frances E. Oliver died peacefully on Thursday December 9, 2021 at the Mountainside Residential Care in Margaretville. She was born June 19, 1924 in Chichester, daughter of the late Harry and Mary VanKleeck Finch. Frances was a hard worker her entire life. She was employed for 18 years at Mayes Veneer Mill, and had provided housekeeping skills both at the Old Margaretville Hospital, and for many years at the Delhi Infirmary. She was a native and life long resident of the Catskill Mountains, having resided in Arkville and Hamden. She was a community minded individual who was eager to volunteer, and always willing to help others. She had been a member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary .Frances had a reputation for being very clean, and punctual, if not early for her appointments!
Surviving are her daughter, Diana Northrup of Ballston Spa, 6 grandchildren, (Tammara VanKeuren, Tracy Miller, Thomas Todd, Farole Watts, Wendy Delaney, and Wade Northrup) 14 great-grandchildren, and 8 great-great-grandchildren, with one more expected. Frances is also survived by many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Floyd, on April 9, 1987, a daughter, Sandra Todd, on April 25, 2017, and her son-in-law, James Todd, on August 8, 2018, as well as 4 brothers (Alonzo, Arlington, Addison, and Carlton), 7 sisters (Hilda, Orrea, Blanche, Olive, Elnora, Kathleen, and Gwendolyn) and a great-grandson, Zackery Davis-Todd, on July 27, 2021.
Graveside services will be 12 noon Monday December 13, 2021 at the Mt. Pleasant Rural Cemetery Rt 28. Mt. Tremper. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the E. B.
