Grace Guendel, a cherished mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on March 28, 2025, in Boiceville at the age of 95. Born on January 30, 1930, in Manhattan, and raised in Hoboken, NJ.  Grace lived a full and vibrant life marked by her kindness, creativity, and the love she had for her family and friends.

Grace was the beloved daughter of the late Gustav and Lena Moeller. She was also preceded in death by her devoted husband, Henry Guendel, with whom she shared a beautiful life and partnership. Grace's legacy continues through her loving family: her daughter Carol Guendel; her sons Carl (Selina) Guendel and Peter (Fran) Guendel; and her adored granddaughters, Selina and Sarah (Nick) Aston, and great grandchild Ryan Aston. 

Known for her warm heart and generous spirit, Grace was often described as "one sweet lady." Her life was characterized by her dedication to her family and her passion for her work. For 18 years, Grace was a valued associate at Style Fabric, where she assisted countless individuals who shared her enjoyment of sewing and crafting. Her own talent as a seamstress shone through in the clothing she fashioned for her daughter and the original craft gifts she created with love and care.  She  volunteered thousands of hours of her sewing talents to the senior residents at Golden Hill Nursing Home in Kingston, always distributing teddy bears to spread love and joy.  

In addition to her time at Style Fabric, Grace served the community through her work at the Onteora School District in the West Hurley School. Her commitment to the well-being of others and her ability to connect with people made her a respected and appreciated figure in the area, where she had been a resident since 1960.

Grace and her husband Henry were a testament to the power of teamwork and dedication. Together, they built their family home, a testament to their hard work and the love they shared. This home would become the backdrop for many cherished family memories and a symbol of their enduring bond.

Travel was another of Grace's joys, and she took every opportunity to explore new places with her family. Her adventures took her across the United States and to various countries abroad, each journey enriching her life with new experiences and stories to share.

Grace's interests were as colorful and varied as the beautiful flower gardens she tended with care. Her favorite color, blue, could be seen in the blooms that adorned her garden and in the decor of her beloved home. A woman of simple pleasures, Grace had a particular fondness for ice cream and cookies, treats that would often accompany family gatherings and celebrations.

Her warm presence and the love she poured into her relationships will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Grace's life was a tapestry woven with the threads of love, hard work, and the joy she found in the everyday moments. Her memory will continue to inspire and comfort her family and friends, as they remember her not just for the life she lived, but for the love she gave so freely.
