Joan Bryant, a cherished mother, and friend of Mount Tremper, passed away peacefully on August 18, 2024, at the age of 95. Born on September 22, 1928, in Brooklyn, Joan was the beloved daughter of the late Bernard "Buster" and Anna Walsh Brinks. Her life was a testament to her strength, kindness, and unwavering faith.

Joan's early years in Brooklyn laid the foundation for a life full of love and dedication. She was a beacon of wisdom and support to her family and friends, always ready with a kind word or a helping hand. Joan's professional life was marked by her exceptional skills as a bookkeeper in the banking industry, where she was respected for her meticulous attention to detail and her integrity.

A woman of deep faith, Joan was an active member of the Woodstock Christ's Lutheran Church, where her love for music graced the choir, and her presence was a source of comfort and inspiration to the congregation. Her commitment to her church community was unwavering, and she lived her faith through her actions every day.

Joan's love for her family was the cornerstone of her life. She is survived by her devoted son, Steven Wayne Brunet Bryant of Florida; her loving daughters, Holly Biesele of West Hurley and Sueanne Bryant of Florida., loving nephew Bruce (Pat) Bryant of SC, and loving niece Robin Reilly Newman of VA.  Joan's grandchildren Travis Freer of VA, Amanda Wry of TN, and great grandchildren Anna and Heather Tyree also survive.  Joan's life was also touched by the brief presence of her infant son Wayne Brunet; and devoted "sister" Margaret "Peg" Reilly, who preceded her in death. The legacy of her kind spirit, zest for life, and laughter will live on through her children and all those who knew her.  Her memory will be cherished and kept alive in the hearts of her family, friends, and all who were blessed to know her. Joan's grace and compassion will continue to inspire us, and her legacy will be a guiding light for generations to come.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11am on Tuesday October 8, 2024 at the Christ's Lutheran Church, 26 Mill Hill Rd. Woodstock, followed by a gathering for fellowship and refreshment in the Church Hall. You may share a special memory, photo, or condolence on Joan’s Tribute Wall at www.Gormleyfuneralhome.com.
