Joan Montgomery

Joan Deery Montgomery, 96, of Herdman Rd., died Sunday, July 27, 2025 in the Mountainside Nursing Home in Margaretville.  Born November 27, 1928 in Liverpool, England she was the daughter of the late Henry and Ellen Deery.   

A lifelong resident, Joan loved animals.  Over the years she had several dogs which she enjoyed taking care of.   She was an excellent cook and her Yorkshire Pudding was a favorite amongst family members.

Survivors include her husband, Robert, two daughters: Elizabeth and Veronica Montgomery, two sons: Robert and Roy Montgomery.  Five grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive.  

Her visitation will be held on Thursday from 3:00 PM - 6:00 PM at the EB Gormley Funeral Home, Main St. in Phoenicia.   Graveside Services will be held in the Allaben Cemetery at a later date. Expressions of condolence may be shared with Joan's family on her Tribute Wall at GormleyFuneralHome.com
