     John J. Anitra, 76, of Oliverea died Tuesday September 5, 2023 at his residence under Hospice care.  He was born June 16, 1947 in Brooklyn son of the late Anthony and Rosemarie Liguori Anitra.  A Lindenhurst Long Island resident for many years, he relocated after his retirement in 2001.  John was a Teamster's truck driver for Consolidated Freight, and was very proud of his driving record. He was an avid sports fan, and enjoyed watching the Yankee's, Giant's, and the Ranger's.   Additionally, he had a fun group of guys, that he enjoyed playing rounds of golf with.  John had an appreciation for nature, and loved his home in the Catskill Mountains.   Some may remember him kibitzing with neighbors, and making new friends as he operated the hot dog stand for a couple of years in Phoenicia. 

     Surviving are his wife Linda Gordon Anitra, his children: Jennifer, Keith, John, Michael, and Linda's children: Edward, Timothy, and Michael.  A brother Anthony, and 17 grandchildren also survive.
