Kingston-
John "Terry" Schultz, 78 of Kingston died Sunday Dec. 4, 2022 at the Westchester Medical Center. He was born in Kingston April 16, 1944 son of the late John and Janice Peck Schultz. A native and life long area resident, he was an accomplished chef who trained with the Head Chef at the Gov. Clinton Hotel. In his youth, he spent time working on hotrods and stock cars. For many years, he was a store and department manager at Caldor in Kingston. Terry was a sports enthusiast. He coached children's baseball, football, and championship softball teams stressing the importance of teamwork and good sportsmanship. He had an appreciation of nature, and was and avid stream fisherman. He had an eye for repairing things, and was a true Mr. Fix-it. He is remembered for his kindness, acceptance, and love of animals.
Surviving are his children: Tammy Bodenweber and her soul mate Heath Quinn of Catskill, Bruce (Patty) Schnakenberg, and Michael (Lyn) Schnakenberg. Grandchildren: Ashley, Darryl, Jeffrey, Keaton, Rylin, Amanda, Garrett, Jacqueline, Michael, and Brian. Great-grandchildren: Michael, Miah, and Audrey Ella, Siblings: Karen Oulton, and Walter Mower. Several nieces, nephews, and his four-legged friend Hobbs also survive. He was predeceased by his wife Kay in 2014 and siblings Fred Peck and Noreen Mower.
A Service to Celebrate the Life of Terry will be held on Friday at 7:30pm at the E. B. Gormley Funeral Home 87 Main St. Friends will be received on Friday 4-8pm at the E. B. Gormley Funeral Home.
