Jolene Anne Hill, 65 of Woodstock died Thursday Aug. 24, 2023 at Health Alliance Hospital. Jolene was born Feb. 6, 1958 in Washington, DC to the parents Joseph and Rosa Hill. Having formerly lived in FL and NC, Jolene had been an area resident for the past 30 years, had been a Master Electrician, and owned and operated Tap Root Electrical Services. Jolene's education continued with earning a Master's in Electrical Engineering and accepting a position with the NYC DEP. Jolene was an accomplished vocalist and musician who played multiple instruments, however enjoyed the drums the best. Jolene was a talented woodworker who crafted furniture quality pieces. Jolene had a sharp sense of humor, could stitch together a yarn like any good Southerner, and who's go-to libation was an Irish Coffee. Jolene often claimed to be an amateur physicist, rocket scientist, and brain surgeon.
Surviving are Jolene's spouse Rebecca Turmo, children: Carmen Schwab-Hill Johnson, Armin and Lukas Schwab-Hill, stepchildren: Rose Woodworth and Ayden Wilber, brother: John Hill, and 3 perfect grandchildren: Willem and Eeva Johnson and Emma Woodworth. Predeceased is a sister Deby Hill.
A Memorial Gathering will take place on Sunday from 6pm to 8pm at the E. B. Gormley Funeral Home 87 Main St. Phoenicia. A celebration of life will be scheduled in October.
