Joshua S. Luborky, 57 of Mt. Tremper died Tuesday November 23, 2021 after a cancer diagnosis at Vassar Bros. Medical Center in Poughkeepsie. He was born in Washington, DC on October 10, 1964 son of the late Samuel Luborsky and Penny Hunn Luborsky.
Josh was a warm and giving soul, who loved his family dearly, and was always willing to help someone in need. He was a avid restauranteur and 'foodie' who was normally working the 'front of the house', where he was able to interact with patrons. For many years, he was part of the successful hospitality team at the Hasbrouck House in Stone Ridge. He enjoyed building things that he needed, with sustainable local materials, being keen on the practice of 'recycle, reuse and reduce'. The extended family's home in Chincotegue, VA provided annual opportunities for loads of memory making with his children and wife, which Josh held paramount. He had a great appreciation of nature, and enjoyed hikes and time outdoors. He was folk and acoustical guitarist, who enjoyed the music of Jimi Hendrix, and the Grateful Dead. An avid sports fan of the Washington Redskins and the Baltimore Orioles, he also was a big Trekkie of the Star Trek films. Josh had been an area resident since 1994, and had been an associate broker with Win Morrison in Phoenicia who excelled in helping clients 'put all the pieces together'. He was a member of the Ulster County Board of Realtors and the National Association of Realtors. Josh experienced other rich cultures and life long lessons by traveling to Israel, and backpacking through Europe.
Surviving in addition to his mother are his wife Lisa and three sons:Aaron, Eli, and Ian. A daughter Sabrina Green of Japan, and two sisters: Susan and Barbara Luborsky.
Arrangements are under the direction of the E. B. Gormley Funeral Home 87 Main St. Phoenicia. You may share a special memory or condolence with the family on Joshua's Tribute Wall at www.gormleyfuneralhome.com
