Judy L. Wagner, a beacon of positivity and a lover of life's adventures, passed away peacefully on September 25, 2024, in Phoenicia. Born on August 30, 1951, in Galveston, Texas, Judy's vivacious spirit and warm heart touched everyone she encountered. She was the cherished daughter of the late Newell and Lois Wade and is survived by her devoted husband, Mark Wagner, her loving son, Arlo Paranhos, her loving brother, Bill Wade, and her adored four-legged companion, Forest.

Judy's pursuit of knowledge led her to the University of Texas at Austin, where she earned a Bachelor of Science Degree as a Registered Nurse Clinician. Her commitment to nurturing growth, both in herself and in the world around her, was further exemplified by her accomplishment as a graduate of the Rutgers University Master Gardener Program. Judy's professional life was marked by her tenure as the Associate Director of Bristol-Myers Squib Oncology, a role she held with dedication and excellence until her retirement 17 years ago.

Throughout her life, Judy's passion for the great outdoors was unmistakable. Her love for nature drew her to the Catskill Mountains, where she made her home full time since 2020. An enthusiastic hiker, backpacker, camper, and cyclist, Judy embraced every opportunity to explore the beauty of the wilderness. Her athletic prowess was evident in her participation as a biathlon competitor, and she found equal joy in the tranquility of yoga, the rhythm of aerobics, and the exhilaration of running.

Vibrant and effervescent, Judy never met a stranger. Her ability to connect with people from all walks of life was one of her most remarkable traits. She carried this openness and warmth with her as she traveled the world, seeking out hiking adventures that not only challenged her physically but also enriched her soul. Judy's presence was like a burst of color in any setting, a nod to her favorite hue, purple, which was as bold and lively as she was.

Judy's legacy is one of love, laughter, and the relentless pursuit of joy. She lived life to the fullest, embracing each new day with an indefatigable spirit. Her memory will be treasured by all who had the privilege of knowing her, and her light will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of her family, friends, and the many lives she touched.

As we bid farewell to Judy, we celebrate a life lived with unbridled enthusiasm and love. Her journey on this earth may have come to an end, but the stories of her adventures, her kindness, and her zest for life will live on forever. Judy L.
