June (Todd) Ennist

June R. Ennist, 77, of Pine Hill, passed away on Sunday, December 29, 2024, at HealthAlliance Hospital in Kingston after a long illness. June was born June 19, 1947, in Margaretville, the youngest of six children born to Ezra and Stella (Shurika) Todd. She was named "June" for the month of her birth and "Roseanna" in honor of her grandmothers. June graduated from Fleischmanns High School in 1965 and, soon after, married Bill Ennist on November 14, 1965, in Pine Hill. June and Bill met at the Sugar Bowl in Fleischmanns on Halloween 1962 and had been together ever since, recently celebrating their 59th wedding anniversary and their 62nd year together. 

June worked for about 10 years in the cafeteria at Belleayre Ski Center, first for Clifford Bellows, then for Boston Concessions Group. She very much enjoyed her interactions with coworkers on the mountain and with the skiers she came to know over her time there. June grew up without a television and so developed a love for reading that lasted throughout her life. Murder mysteries and romances were her favorites, and it was not uncommon for her to read two books in one day! She loved any kind of puzzle - particularly crosswords - and was a devoted fan of the New York Mets since their World Series appearance in 1973. June also enjoyed country music, dancing, and long drives over the country roads with Bill, which usually included a stop at one of their favorite restaurants. June was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, and her absence will be deeply felt by her family and those who knew and cared about her. 

Surviving to celebrate June's memory are her husband, Bill, of Pine Hill; her son, Bill Jr., and his wife, Robin, of Princeton, NJ; three grandchildren - Connor and his wife, Nicole, of Arvada, CO; Paige, of Vancouver, WA; and Tyler, of Princeton, NJ; three sisters - Carol Dilg of Kingston, Barbara Delmont of Victorville, CA, and Ginny Short of Highmount; and one brother, Bob Todd of Seneca, SC. She was predeceased by her son, Ed, in 2022; her father, Ezra, in 1993; her mother, Stella, in 1992; and her brother, Dickie, in 1949. 

A Memorial Service will be held to celebrate the lives of June and her son, Ed, on Saturday, April 19, at the Pine Hill Fire Hall from 1:00-3:00 p.m.  memorial contributions may be made to the Pine Hill Fire Department, or the Pine Hill Library.   You may share a special memory or condolence with the family on June's Tribute Wall at www.gormleyfuneralhome.com.
