Karin Vogel, 54, passed away on November 26, 2024, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born on July 11, 1970, in Kingston, she was the daughter of Barry and Suzanne Johnson Wingert.  She leaves behind her devoted husband, Arthur Vogel, with whom she shared many of life's adventures and quiet moments. A sister, Sharon Wingert, nieces: Theresa and Emily, nephew: Anthony, cousin: Missy, as well as her feline companion, Lucy .

Karin's academic journey led her to graduate from OCS Class of 1988 and to further her education at SUNY Ulster, where she majored in math and science. Her love for learning and her dedication to her work were evident in her 20-year tenure as an administrator at Markertek Corp. in Saugerties, where she was known for her professionalism and warmth.

Outside of her professional life, Karin's passions were vast and varied. She had a profound love for animals, especially her cats and horses, and spent many memorable moments camping at Lake George. Her appreciation for the outdoors and nature was parallel to her love for travel and exploration. Karin was an active member of a Dart League at Snyder's Tavern, where she enjoyed the camaraderie and competition.

Music and literature were also important to Karin. She was an avid reader, with a particular fondness for the works of Stephen King, and in her younger years, she played the flute with a delicate grace. Her artistic talents were numerous; she was a talented artist who worked with oils to create stunning landscapes and still life paintings. An adept craftsperson, Karin hand-made all her Christmas cards with love, pouring her heart into every detail.

Karin was also an integral part of her community. She was active with the West Hurley Knitting group and a proud member of the Catskill Mountain Railroad. Her volunteer spirit shone brightly as she took on various roles, from helping with the Polar Express train rides to ticketing and hospitality. Her enthusiasm for classic cars led her to become involved with the Classic Car Shows as both an exhibitor and an eager participant. She was especially proud of her 1965 powder blue Ford Mustang convertible and served as the Captain of the judging panel for the British Car Shows.  Karin was also a 30 year member of the Woodstock Motor Club.

One of Karin's cherished traditions was watching the Rose Bowl Parade each New Year's Day. She had even planned to travel to California and volunteer her talents to help construct the parade floats. No matter the task, Karin was always willing to roll up her sleeves and help with a project, contributing her time and skills generously.

Karin Vogel will be remembered for her vibrant spirit, her kindness, and her unwavering determination. She lived a life full of passion and purpose, touching the hearts of those around her. Her legacy will continue to inspire and her memory will be cherished in the hearts of her family and friends forever.
