Katherine Powell

West Shokan-

     Katherine Powell, 86, of West Shokan died Tuesday October 17, 2023 at the Westchester Medical Center.  She was born April 7, 1937 in New York City, daughter of the late Ernst and Elizabeth Globuschutz Reimer.  She earned her bachelor's degree in Education from New Paltz College in 1958.  Katherine taught at the Woodstock Elementary School for 32 years.  She had been a member of the Stony Clove Rod & Gun Club, NYS Retired Teachers Assn., Onteora Retired Teachers Assn. and the AARP.

     Surviving are her sister-in-law Eileen Reimer, nephews: Evan and Edward Reimer, and dear friend and neighbor Diane Snyder.  She was predeceased by her husband Robert Powell, and brother Ernst Reimer.

     Her funeral service will be held on Saturday at 11am at the E. B. Gormley Funeral Home 87 Main St. Phoenicia.  Burial in Bushkill Cemetery West Shokan.
