Kelly Piskacek Obituary

Fleischmanns-

Kelly Ann Piskacek, a cherished soul known for her radiant smile and boundless kindness, passed away on February 5, 2025, at the age of 58 in Ithaca. Born on December 28, 1966, in Brooklyn, Kelly lived a life marked by love, resilience, and the joy she brought to everyone around her.

Kelly, the beloved daughter of Geraldine "Gerry" Horner and the late James Piskacek, grew up surrounded by a close-knit family. She was a sister who shared an unbreakable bond with Dawn Ventura, Kim, Jason, and Keith Piskacek. Her warmth and generosity of spirit extended to her many nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles, who survive her and will hold her memory dear.

For over four decades, Kelly was a vibrant part of her community, touching lives with her genuine care and ability to make others smile. Her presence was a gift to all who knew her, and she faced life with a remarkable strength and dignity that inspired those around her. Kelly met the challenges of Down Syndrome head-on, demonstrating that her spirit and determination knew no bounds.

A lifelong learner and participant in the ARC program, Kelly's enthusiasm for knowledge and personal growth was infectious. She had a passion for the arts, with the classic film "Grease" holding a special place in her heart. The music of Elvis Presley could always be found playing in her home, bringing her joy and often prompting an impromptu dance.

Kelly's artistic eye shone through in her love for landscape photography, capturing the beauty of the world around her. Her photographs were not only a testament to her talent but also a window into the way she saw the world—full of color, life, and possibility. The colors green and purple were her favorites, and they frequently featured in her work, adding a personal touch to each piece.

Friends and family will remember Kelly for her unwavering positivity and the courage with which she embraced life. Her legacy is one of love, laughter, and the simple yet profound impact she made on those fortunate enough to cross her path.

As we bid farewell to Kelly Ann Piskacek, we celebrate the light she was in this world and the countless ways she enriched our lives. Her spirit will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of those she leaves behind. Kelly's life was a beautiful melody of joy and resilience, and she will be profoundly missed by all who were blessed to know her.
