Lorraine Kathryn Lortz Cline, of Olivebridge, NY passed away June 20, 2022. She was 88 years old. Lorraine was born on September 24, 1933 at her childhood home in Olivebridge, NY, She was the daughter William Charles and Pauline Hyacinth Lortz. On October 17, 1953 she married her beloved husband Garwood Cline. They were married 68 ½ years. Lorraine attended the one room schoolhouse on Mill Rd in Olivebridge, NY from 1941-1949, Lorraine graduated from Kingston High School in 1953. Lorraine was a United States Air Force bride, a talented home maker, dress and cloths maker for her herself, daughter, and granddaughter. Lorraine was a talented crafter, in her life she made jewelry, paintings from slate stone to milk cans. Lorraine was a member the Olivebridge United Methodist Church, the Olivebridge Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary and Girl Scouts of America. Lorraine enjoyed family camping, touring the world from the Atlantic-Pacific, Canada, East and West Rocky Mountains, and adventures to Ireland, Germany, Austria, and Zermatt Mountain in Switzerland. Lorraine for several years was part of a bowling league with the seniors in Kingston, NY.
Lorraine was survived by her beloved husband Garwood Cline, two daughters Karen Ruth Cline Stay married to John Stay of Gouverneur, NY and Dianna Cline Wooten of Olivebridge, NY partner Bret Kiersted, eight grandchildren, Jessica Davis, Kori Stay, Rosemary Goff husband Richie, Fanny Kawecki husband Robin, Emma Terhune late husband Aaron, Peter Wooten wife Megan, Dylan Wooten fiancé Shannon Gaffney and Noah Stay. Along with 19 great grandchildren. Lorraine will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Private services will be held at Krumville Cemetery. A Memorial gathering to celebrate Lorraine’s life will be Saturday June 25 th 1pm-3pm at Olivebridge Fire House. The family suggests memorial donations may be made to the Olivebridge Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary.
