Pine Hill-
Mary E. Cure, 97 of Upper Birch Creek died Monday September 13, 2021 at the Margaretville Memorial Hospital. A native and life long are area resident, she was born in Arkville on November 9, 1923 daughter of the late Frank and Carrie Nichols Oliver. Years ago, she had worked at the Colonial Inn, and Stramkee's Restaurant and Motel in the Village of Pine Hill. For over fifty years, she and her husband William cared for the Reisser Family. Mary had been active with the Senior Citizen Club, and was an excellent baker and cook. She had a local reputation as being the go-to Birthday Cake Lady! She was the matriarch of the family and genuinely shared her love with all.
Surviving are her son William G. "Bud" Cure and his wife Jo Anne of Pine Hill, and a daughter Alice Brannen of Oxford. 7 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, 9 great-great grandchildren with +1 on the way! She was predeceased by her husband William in 2009, and her daughter Patricia Searle April 2021.
A private service to honor and respect Mary will be held at a future date.
