Mary Ellen Denton

     MaryEllen Denton, 72 of Boiceville died Monday October 16, 2023 at her residence.  She was born November 18, 1950 in Nyack, NY daughter of the late Charles and Caroline Newby Berry.  She had been an area resident for the past few years with her sister Joanne.  MaryEllen was a retired Registered Nurse who had worked at The Pines at Glenns Falls.  She enjoyed times at the family cabin, and swimming in the lakes of Upstate New York.  She developed an interest of history in her friends and family by planning educational adventures.  She was an avid solitaire player, and shared the fun of board games with her young family members.  She had an interest in the figure skating competitions of the Winter Olympics, and was always up for a delicious diner experience. 

     Surviving are her son Charles Denton of South Glenns Falls, a sister: Joanne Brazilian of Boiceville and Kathleen Koenig of Monroe.  She was predeceased by her siblings Margaret, John, and Joseph Berry. 

     A gathering to Celebrate the Life of MaryEllen will take place on Friday October 20 at 11:30am at the E.  B.  Gormley Funeral Home 87 Main St. Phoenicia.  Friends will be received prior from 10am to 11:30am at the E.  B.  Gormley Funeral Home.  You may share a special memory or condolence with the family on MaryEllen's Tribute Wall at www.gormleyfuneralhome.com
