Michael Bush Obituary

Phoenicia-

Michael "Mickey" Bush, 70 of Phoenicia died peacefully Wednesday June 9, 2021 at his residence.  He was born in Kingston August 17, 1950 son of the late Karl and Bette Farrell Bush.  He was a talented athlete who lettered in Basketball, Baseball, and Football at Onteora High School.  He continued to stay actively involved in local softball leagues for many years.  He had been a past member of the MF Whitney Hose Co.  Mickey was a fishing enthusiast, to say the least.  It did not matter what type of fishing it was, he was there!  He also had a depth of skills in his woodworking shop, where he was always busy working on a project to gift someone.  He made plenty of picnic tables and Adirondack chairs for many local fund raisers.  He was remembered as a loving, generous, and loyal man.  Mickey worked for many years at the Kirk's Market in Phoenicia, and for the past two decades as produce clerk at Adam's in Kingston.  In his free time, Mic was a true history buff.

Surviving are his wife Lynn Olsen Bush, his children: Michael "Mickey" (Alicia) Bush of TN. Bobby Taylor and fiancee Allison Lent of Marbletown, Jessica Taylor and her life partner Michael Short of Saugerties.  Grandchildren:Gabe, Julie, Andrew, Katelyn, Tyler, and Aubrey.  One sister Susan Balash of Kingston.  He was predeceased by his brother Joe in 2018.

A Service to Celebrate the Life of Mickey will be held on Friday at 5pm at the E. B. Gormley Funeral Home 87 Main St. Phoenicia.  Friends are asked to bring a special "Mickey" story to share during the funeral.  All are invited to join the family, immediately following the service, at the Glenbrook Park Pavilion on Rt. 42 for fellowship and refreshments and more "Mickey" stories.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Phoenicia Thrift Shoppe, Phoenicia Food Pantry, or the Shandaken Ambulance.  Family will receive friends from 3-5pm at the Funeral Home prior to the service.  You may share a condolence on Mickey's Tribute Wall at gormleyfuneralhome.com
