Nicandro D'Acunto

     Nicandro D'Acunto of Phoenicia died  Wednesday May 19, 2021 at the Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla.  He was born November 6, 1927 in Scauri, Italy, son of the late Alfonse and Lucia D'Acunto.  He had  been a seasonal resident for thirty years, and full time for the past twenty years.  Nic was a self employed general contractor who built many private homes in Westchester in the 1970's.  He was a resourceful individual who was dedicated to his vocation.  He was always repairing or tending to something that needed attention on his property.  He was a people person, and everybody knew Nic.  When he wasn't working, he enjoyed watching professional wrestling, or preparing his gardens.

     He is survived by his daughter Angela and her husband Herman Galindo of Phoenicia, his son Alfonse and his wife Joann of PA. one sister Maria in Italy.  Seven grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren also survive.
