Olga Pappas Obituary

Wayne, NJ-

Olga (Kouroupis) Pappas, of Wayne, New Jersey, passed away peacefully at home on August 28, 2025. She was 92 years old.

Olga was born in Queens, New York, on April 10, 1933, to parents who had immigrated from Deskati, Greece. When her father developed Parkinson’s disease and could no longer work as a furrier, the family returned to Deskati when Olga was one year old, later enduring the Nazi occupation of Greece.

At age 19, Olga moved back to the United States with her mother and sister to Inwood, Manhattan, where she worked as a seamstress in Union Square. In 1957 she married Konstantinos Papakonstantinou (Kosta Pappas), with whom she shared 60 years, and had three children: Angie, Philip, and Nicholas. The family moved to Palisades Park, New Jersey, and then to Wayne, New Jersey, where they resided for almost 50 years. Olga and Kosta also spent winters in Trinity, Florida.

Olga was an avid seamstress, embroiderer, and cook. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, especially in Halcott Center, New York, with the Anagnos, Pierce, and Bouton families.

She is preceded by her parents, Giannoula and Nicholas Kouroupis, her sister, Dorothea Kouroupis, and her husband, Kosta Pappas.

She is survived by her daughter, Angie Pappas, her sons, Philip Konstantine and Nicholas Pappas, Philip’s wife, Mary Konstantine, two granddaughters, Jenna and Sophia Konstantine, Jenna’s fiancé, Michael Kaluzny, goddaughter, Dina Rainey, and godson, Leo Siris, as well as cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
