Paul James Cutrone, 92 of island Road died Saturday December 26, 2020 at the Kingston Hospital. He was born October 19, 1928 in the Bronx son of the late Bernard and Eileen Callahan Cutrone. Paul proudly served in the US Navy in both the South Pacific and Guam. He continued his service with active memberships in the VFW, where he was Past Commander of Shandaken Post # 2837, Past Ulster County Commander, Adjutant, and Honor Guard Member. He was also a member of the American Legion. Paul drove tractor trailer along the East Coast from NY to NC for 26 years and was a member of the Teamsters Local 807 and 445. Locally he served as an Ulster County Sheriff's Deputy for twenty years and had been a member of the Town of Shandaken Police Department. Paul was an active and dedicated member of the Phoenicia Fish & Game Association and will be dearly missed at the Club
Surviving are his daughter Victoria Cutrone of Saugerties, grandchildren Chris (Sarah) Ellsworth and Kassi Ellsworth and great granddaughter Violet. He was predeceased by his wife Dorothy Cutrone in 2011.
A graveside service to honor and respect the memory of Paul will be held on Saturday May 15 at 12 noon, at the family plot in the Mt. Pleasant Rural Cemetery. The family suggests memorial contributions to the Shandaken VFW 35 Pine Lane Mt. Tremper 12457 or the WoundedWarriorProject.org.
