Robert Weir

     Robert E. Weir, 77, of Lanesville passed away at home on Wednesday June 18, 2026.  Affectionately known as Bob or Bobby, he was born Jan.13, 1949 on Staten Island, NY  Robert was the son of the late John and Helen England Weir.

Robert is known for his passion and love for classic cars, making delicious foods, and telling stories of long ago.  A truck driver from the early days of his youth, driving in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and New York, and later in life worked on restoring classic cars and rifles. He enjoyed going to flea markets and listening to his oldies, as his favorite of all times is the late Elvis Presley.  He was also a forever Dale Ernhardt fan!  He is quoted as saying, " I started with a '55 Chevy, and I ended with a '55 Chevy"

Robert is survived by his children: Heather Carpenter (Weir) of Greeley, CO. Shauna Weir of Greeley CO, Alexandria ( Raymond) of West Kill, NY, and Robert )Reanna) of Shokan, NY and Madeleine of Shokan, NY.  His grandchildren: Tiffany (Austin),Brandon, Nichole (Shane), Havoc, Carson, Brenda, and Brinley.  His great grandchildren: Jocelyn, Dalton, Payton, Brandon Jr. and Jaydn.  A sister-in-law: Tammy and a niece and nephew Michael and Rachel and his great niece and nephew Emilie and Charlie.  He is predeceased by his brother Richard Weir.  

Robert will be greatly missed by the 70 plus years of friends and family that he has had and will always be celebrated with his memories.  The family suggests memorial donations may be made to stjude.org or the Columbia-Greene Hospice.  A Service to celebrate the Life of Robert will be held in the Fall.  Interment will be in the Mt. Pleasant Rural Cemetery, Mt.
