Roy Tyson Obituary

Shandaken-

     Roy D. Tyson, 74, of Shandaken died Friday Oct. 7, 2022 at his residence.  He was born in Hackensack, NJ Oct. 20, 1947, son of the late Matthew and Evelyn Discepola Tyson.  Roy was a veteran of the US Army having served from 1967-1969.  He received the National Defense Service Medal, and the VietNam Service Medal.  He had been an area resident for over 30 years, and was a  talented and skilled automotive technician.  Additionally Roy was a heavy equipment operator. 

     Surviving are his sister Patricia Mellen of Barnegat, NJ.  He was predeceased by his brother James Tyson.

     A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at 10am at the St. Francis de Sales Church Main St. Phoenicia.  Burial in the Ulster County Veteran's Cemetery at New Paltz with military honors. Arrangements are under the directionof the E. B.
