Boiceville-
Stephanie E. Basalone, 76, of Boiceville died Tuesday June 27, 2023 at her residence. She was born July 12, 1946 in the Bronx, daughter of the late Stephen and Estelle Konchalski. An area resident who had summered for many years, and became full time in the 1970’s. For over twenty years, she had worked for the Town of Olive Building and Zoning Department. She had been a member of the St. Francis de Sales Parish, as well as the Sodality of Our Lady of LaSalette. Stephanie was a very social person, with a firecracker personality, and the ability to “ tell it like it is”. Family was paramount to her, and as matriarch, she hosted many family gatherings. She was an avid gardener, who cultivated flowers, and enjoyed keeping the bird feeders filled.
Surviving are her husband of 56 years Daniel Basalone, two sons: Jason ( Marissa ) Basalone and Christopher ( Erica ) Basalone, two grandchildren: Stephan and Rocco.
Her funeral procession will form on Saturday at 11:30am at the E. B. Gormley Funeral Home 87 Main St Phoenicia, thence to the St Francis de Sales Church where at 12 noon a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Burial in the St. Francis de Sales Cemetery Rt. 28 Shandaken. Friends will be received on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9pm at the E. B. Gormley Funeral Home . The family suggests memorial contributions may be made to the Ulster Co. SPCA.
