Steven proudly served his country as a member of the United States Navy from 1981 to 1984, where his dedication was recognized with the Navy Expeditionary Medal. His service was a testament to his character, embodying the values of loyalty and courage throughout his life.

After his military service, Steven became an esteemed artisan in the community. His hands could finesse wood into beautiful furniture, turning raw materials into works of art. His creativity also shone through in his jewelry and stained glass creations, which were not only a testament to his skill but also a reflection of his soul.

Steven's life was deeply rooted in the area where he resided for thirty years, becoming a well-known figure for his master woodworking craftsmanship. His work was not just a profession but a passion that he pursued with meticulous care and an eye for detail.

Family was the cornerstone of Steven's life. He is predeceased by his loving parents, George Duerr Sr. and Martha Ann Mead Duerr. His memory will be cherished and kept alive by his brother, George (Karen) Duerr, who will miss Steven's presence and the joy he brought to their lives.

Known for his wry sense of humor, Steven could light up a room with his wit and his caring nature. He was the kind of person who gave great hugs, making everyone feel loved and comforted in his embrace. His love for Buffalo chicken wings with bleu cheese was well-known among his friends and family, and his laughter while enjoying his favorite snack will be fondly remembered.

Steven's legacy is one of love, artistry, and service. His life was a beautiful tapestry of the relationships he nurtured, the beauty he created, and the laughter he shared. He will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him, and his spirit will continue to inspire those he has left behind.
