Susan Crochiere Obituary

Boiceville-

Susan J. Crochiere passed away peacefully on August 21, 2025, in Kingston, after a courageous four-year battle with lung cancer. Born on September 8, 1959, in Ellsworth, Maine, Susan's warmth and resilience touched many throughout her 65 years of life.
Susan's journey began as the beloved daughter of Robert and Nancy Nicholson Anderson, and she grew up with a sister, Debra, who predeceased her. Susan's early years in Maine shaped her into the strong, independent woman that many came to admire. In the 1980s, Susan made her home in the mountains of the Catskill's, where she would remain for the rest of her life.

Professionally, Susan dedicated over two decades of service as a Senior Claims Approver at Met Life and United HealthCare. Her commitment to her work was evident in the meticulous care she took in her responsibilities, and she was highly regarded by her colleagues. Embracing the changing times, Susan transitioned to working from home, continuing to exhibit her strong work ethic and attention to detail.

Susan's life was rich with interests that brought her joy and excitement. She was an ardent fan of both the NY Mets and the NY Yankees, finding equal enthusiasm for each game, no matter the rivalry. Her love for sports also extended to the occasional football game on TV. A true competitor at heart, Susan enjoyed the thrill of computer games and the anticipation of NYS Lotto scratch-offs. Her passion for NASCAR was yet another testament to her love for high-energy, captivating competitions.  The color blue was a favorite of Susan's, reflecting perhaps the depth and tranquility that she brought into the lives of those around her. Her husband, John M. Crochiere of Boiceville, fondly described her as "an angel," a testament to the love and light she exuded. Susan's legacy continues through her bonus children, Dianne Crochiere of Central Islip, NY, and Jon (Liza) Crochiere of Clifton Park, along with her cherished grandson, Daniel.

Susan's life was one of love, perseverance, and joy. Her presence was a gift to all who knew her, and her memory will be held dear in the hearts of her family and friends. Susan J. Crochiere's spirit will forever be a beacon of strength and kindness, and her story will continue to inspire those who remember her. A commemoration of her life will be held privately.  The family suggests memorial contributions may be made to the Olive First Aid Squad.  You may share a special memory, photo, or condolence on Susan's Tribute Wall at www.gormleyfuneralhome.com
