Susan "Sue" Marchesani, a vibrant soul known for her warmth and zest for life, passed away peacefully on June 18, 2024, in Margaretville. Born on November 25, 1959, in Jamaica, Queens, Sue was a beacon of joy and kindness to all who knew her. She is survived by her loving husband, John Marchesani, and her cherished daughter, Sara Marchesani. Sue was predeceased by her sister, Kris Kane, and her parents, Howard and Mary Wolf Hansen.

Sue's culinary talents were the heart of the Boiceville Inn, where she served as the head cook for over a decade. Her passion for creating comforting and delicious meals brought together countless patrons who often became friends. Prior to her tenure at the Boiceville Inn, Sue honed her management skills at several establishments, including the Catamount, Spotted Dog, and Olive's General Store. Her leadership and dedication to her work left a lasting impression on both her colleagues and the community.

Beyond her professional life, Sue was an avid motorcycle enthusiast, proudly earning the title of "Miss Harley 1986." Her love for the open road was matched only by her love for music, as she was a devoted fan of Bob Dylan and Bob Seger. Sue's adventurous spirit was complemented by quieter pastimes such as crocheting, where her skilled hands created beautiful pieces that were as much a comfort to others as they were a joy for her to make.

Sue's love for animals was profound, and she shared a special bond with her dogs throughout her life. Her commitment to animal welfare was unwavering, and she often encouraged others to support the Ulster County SPCA. Sue's favorite colors, red and black, were a reflection of her bold and loving nature, often seen in her attire and the decor of her home.

Those who knew Sue will remember her as the most loving and caring person, whose generosity and compassion knew no bounds. Her laughter was infectious, and her ability to make everyone feel welcome and valued was one of her greatest gifts. Sue's presence could light up a room, and her absence will be deeply felt by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Sue's life was a testament to the power of love, kindness, and the joy of living each day to the fullest. Her memory will be cherished and kept alive in the hearts of her family, friends, and all who were touched by her extraordinary spirit. As we say goodbye to Sue, we take comfort in knowing that her legacy of love and warmth will continue to inspire us for years to come.
