Tedd C. Denman, died at his Mount Tremper home on March 30, 2025, at the age of 65. Born on October 30, 1959, in Kingston, Tedd was a lifelong resident of the area, a loving family man, and a passionate advocate of the natural beauty that defines the Catskills.
Tedd is survived by his father E. Lee Denman of Shokan, devoted wife, Carla Persons Denman; his cherished daughter, Rachel (Mike) Holbrook of Olivebridge; his siblings, brother Todd Denman of Alaska and sister Dixie Junius of Oregon. He was a proud grandfather to Emma, Marley, and Mason, who brought endless joy into his life. He is preceded in death by his mother, Dorothea "Dolly" Denman, and his brother, Lee Denman.
A self-employed landscaper, Tedd established and successfully ran Hickory Tree Landscaping. He was known for his deep appreciation of the Catskill Mountains, which inspired his craft and ethos—working to underline the inherent beauty of natural landscapes. Tedd's respect for the environment was a staple of his personal and professional life.
Tedd's love of the wild was evident to all who knew him. He was a seasoned outdoorsman, often found hunting in the early morning mists or fishing the serpentine streams that lace through the Catskills. His passion for these activities connected him deeply with the land he called home and the heritage of the area.
On top of his landscaping prowess, Tedd was an exceptionally skilled craftsman. His work with wood, leather, and metals was more than just a profession—it was an art form through which he captured both the rustic simplicity and the complex beauty of the Catskill region. Friends and clients alike cherished his bespoke creations. His legacy is engraved not only in the trails he walked and the streams he cherished but also in the hearts of his family, friends, and all the lives he touched with his quiet strength and humble expertise. A private man of few words, yet vast knowledge, Tedd taught many the value of respecting the environment and the importance of building something meaningful with one's own two hands.
Services for Tedd will be held privately. You may share a special memory, photo, or condolence with the family on Tedd's Tribute Wall at www.gormleyfuneralhome.com
