Willow-
William T. Hamilton, 82, of Willow died Sunday November 12, 2023 at the Ferncliff Nursing Home in Rhinebeck after a brief illness. He was born in Kingston on May 6, 1941 and has been an area resident all of his life. Bill was a heavy equipment operator with the Ulster County Highway Department for thirty-seven years. He had a great appreciation for the outdoors, and had enjoyed hunting and fishing. He took pride in maintaining the landscape around his home mowing the lawn. Bill had a strong sense of community, and was willing to lend anyone a helping hand and a generous heart. He had a fondness for adventures to the Pennsylvania Dutch Country and had great focus in completing jigsaw puzzles.
Surviving are his wife of 61 years, Linda Quick Hamilton, a daughter Elizabeth Sopata and her significant other Carl Shultis, and son William Jr. and his wife Laurie of SC. Two grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren and a brother Herbert Hamilton of Olive Bridge also survive.
A gathering to celebrate the life of Bill will be held privately. You may share a special memory, photo, or condolence on Bill's Tribute Wall at www.gormleyfuneralhome.com
