Shokan-
Wyatt Korben Baker, 23 of Shokan died suddenly Wednesday September 15, 2021 after a tragic accident. He was born August 3, 1998 at Benedictine Hospital in Kingston, son of Rudie Baker and Lisa Bonestell. He was a graduate of Onteora High School Class of 2016. He had worked in the hospitality and food service sector at Brio's, The Phoenician, and The Emerson. He also worked in the construction industry for Baker Brother Excavating. Wyatt was family oriented, and treated friends as if they were family. He had a depth of compassion, that just instinctively had him care for others, more than himself. He valued the time he was able to hangout with his friends, and play an occasional video game. He had a passion for working on his cars, and a soft spot for animals. He will be deeply missed.
Wyatt is survived by his heartbroken family: his Mother Lisa Bonestell, his sister Acarya Baker, and his father Rudie Baker and his wife Claudia all of Shokan. Also survived are several aunts, uncles, cousins, dear friends, the entire Baker Brothers Excavating family and his four-legged friend Jelly Bean. The family would like to express their gratitude and thanks to the First Responders who attended to Wyatt.
Friends and family will be received on Saturday from 3pm to 6 pm at the E. B. Gormley Funeral Home 87 Main St. Phoenicia. Due to rising breakthrough COVID, masks are required. The family suggest memorial contributions may be made to the Ulster County SPCA . You may share a special memory or condolence with the family on Wyatt's Tribute Wall at gormleyfuneralhome.com
