Edward G. Ryder, 71 of Chichester died peacefully at home on Wednesday April 4, 2023. He was born April 18, 1951 in Copake son of the late Steve and Ethel Slater Ryder. An area resident since 1974 he had been employed for over a quarter century at the Onteora Central Schools, having retired as Head Custodian. He enjoyed spending time outdoors, especially meticulously tending to the landscaping needs around his home. Ed appreciated the beauty in nature, and loved all sorts of animals. He was an avid salt water fisherman, and he was an antique car enthusiast, often enjoying the Lake George Car Shows.
Surviving are his wife Patricia Lewis Ryder, sons: Mychael (Scott) Ryder, Edward (Gillian) Ryder, Chris (Jeanine) Rivera, and a daughter Victoria (Ray) Hall, siblings: Steven, Robert, Diane, Donna, and Charlotte, Sister-in-law: Alice Lewis Ramos, ten grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews also survive. He was predeceased by siblings: Ethel, Becky, Frances, Doris, and Michael.
